AI Integration Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AI Integration Engineer to assist us in quickly developing and deploying production-ready AI applications.
Recently at EightX we produced three successful AI-driven applications in 48 hours. These applications are now operational across our organization. The next step is to build on this success by rapidly scaling up our AI applications to handle increasing volumes of requests, and this position is key to achieving that goal.
In this role, you will collaborate with the company founder to develop real working systems that will launch into production immediately. You will not be doing research or creating theoretical architectures; rather, you will be working in a fast-paced hands-on mentoring environment. The expectation is that you will develop, test and implement AI solutions quickly.

EightX is a consulting firm focused on growth economics, specifically for businesses involved in eCommerce, Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). We work with companies with annual revenues of $2 million to $80 million.

We are in the process of creating automated systems around many of these services, utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Agents to:
- Perform Telephone Call Transcript Analysis
- Update Financial Models
- Monitor Ad Performance
- Track Client Deliverables
We currently have our AI agents hosted on a self-serve VPS and integrated into:
- Slack
- Fireflies
- Meta Ad Manager
Your role will be as the engineer who will oversee all future development for our AI agents.
Your Responsibilities
We’ll ask you to take the lead on creating our AI agent infrastructure.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers in Node.js to connect AI agents with external APIs.
- Integrating systems like:
- Fireflies
- Gmail
- GoHighLevel CRM
- Google Sheets
- Meta Ads
Writing prompts and .md files to allow the internal team to use agents effectively (OpenClaw, Claude Cowork, LLM APIs).
Automating Google Sheets workflows, including:
- Updating Financial models
- Transcribing calls into structured spreadsheet data.
Execute any infrastructure tasks:
- Creating Docker images and managing containers
- Creating SSH access and working with Linux servers
- Managing environment variables
- Isolate networks and monitor container health.
Debugging rapidly by:
- Reading logs
- Identifying points of failure
- Shipping fixes within a short time frame.
Requirements that Cannot be Negotiated
The role is very demanding and requires applicants to meet all of the listed requirements.
You are a developer who primarily develops with Claude Code and/or Cursor, not an experiment or as a part-time developer.
You ship code the same day you receive clear specs.
You have extensive experience in Node.js which includes:
- Using async and await
- Building HTTP servers
- Integrating with APIs
- Experience with npm
Extensive experience with Docker:
- Building images
- Running containers
- Debugging network connectivity
- Managing environmental variables
A deep understanding of how LLMs (Large Language Models) work:
- How LLMs ingest information
- How to structure context for LLMs
- Designing prompts for LLMs to produce reliable outputs
If you do not work this way, you will not be qualified for this role.
Highly Desired Skills
These will greatly improve your chances of being accepted, but they are not required:
- Has built either an MCP server or other types of tool servers
- Used the Google Sheets API or developed using Google Apps Script
- Built a Slack bot or added integration via webhook
- Created automation systems using the following:
- n8n
- Make
- Zapier
- or another mechanism that adds custom glue to an API to achieve what could have been done with a no-code solution
- Has familiar experience working with Linux servers using SSH
- Has experience deploying code in unmanaged or self-hosted environments
Deliverables Within the First 2 Weeks
During your first two weeks you will:
- Create four AI agents that are ready for deployment
- Build copies of some agents for use by clients
- Give internal team members the ability to interact with new agents
This is not an experimental project:
- Specifications are available
- The VPS is up and running
- You will begin shipping code into production immediately

- LatAm or India
- LatAm strongly preferred for overlap with US hours
